Dreaming of the Hundred Acre Wood

There is something incredibly special about photographing a brand-new baby, and sweet Paul Worley made this session one to remember. At just a week and a half old, Paul was the most precious little fella. He spent much of the session peacefully snuggled up with those slow-blinking newborn eyes that seem to melt your heart. We were even lucky enough to capture the sweetest little smile before it disappeared. He handled every outfit change like a champion, falling right back to sleep once soothed. One of my favorite moments was seeing him dressed in the handcrafted Piglet outfit lovingly sewn by a close family friend. It made the session even more meaningful knowing that the same friend had created a matching Winnie the Pooh outfit for big brother John Thomas during his own newborn session just a year and a half ago.

Of course, every family session comes with a few adventures! Big brother John Thomas was full of energy and had absolutely no interest in sitting still for photos. But that’s the beauty of photographing little boys—you embrace the wiggles, pull out the bubbles, sing a few silly songs, and enjoy the beautiful chaos. In those genuine moments of laughter and movement, we captured the sweetest images of JT loving on his new baby brother. Those authentic interactions often become the most treasured photographs because they tell the real story of this season of life.

Ben and Jules, it has been such a joy watching your family grow. Seeing the incredible love and support that surrounds you from family and friends is such a beautiful reminder that you’re not walking this journey alone. I know these early days with both a toddler and a newborn can be exhausting, but one day you’ll look back and realize every sleepless night and chaotic moment was worth it as you watch the friendship between your boys blossom. I have no doubt that Paul will grow into a strong, handsome Christian man under your loving guidance, and I can’t wait to watch him become an amazing little brother to JT.
