Jessie little
Sibling relationships are constantly evolving and yet many things stay the same. I remember being at family reunions growing up and seeing my dad (the youngest of six kids) interact with his older siblings. In many ways they still treated him like the little brother even though they were all grown adults. There was teasing and laughter with each person seeming to fall into their old familiar role. I thought it was so funny at the time, but now I have a much better understanding of the dynamics.
As the second oldest of six kids, it is easy for me to fall into the role of older sister. Advice (solicited or not) seems to just roll off the tongue. I am eager to help in any way possible. And most importantly I always want to be there for my siblings to help support them in whatever way they may need. Out of the six of us there is only one boy. He’s number three right after me. There were times in our childhood when we did not get along. But the times I remember most vividly were our two years in high school together. We drove to and from school together every day arguing over the radio station and sneaking Reese’s sonic blasts on the way home. Over the years I have watched him get a job, get married and now have his beautiful daughter. I thought it would be hard imagining my little brother as a parent. However, seeing him love his daughter and hold her close, I could tell he was a natural.
Rowan and Sarah, words cannot express my joy at having another niece! She is absolutely beautiful and I am so honored to have taken her newborn pictures. I love watching the joy that lights your faces when you talk about her. Your love for each other has grown as well. Rowan, you are so attentive to Sarah and Arya’s needs (I think we trained you well!). And Sarah you give of yourself so selflessly to take care of your precious newborn. I know it has not been easy but I am so proud of you both!
Congratulations to you both! Arya is absolutely gorgeous. These are gorgeous pictures and a beautiful family. I wish you both all the happiness this world can give.
Sending our love to you three
