Newborn

Reflecting back on maternity leave, it is a strange dichotomy of chaos and relaxation. As a pediatric resident, it has given me time to slow down. I am used to going going going until my head hits the pillow. However when you are nursing, you have to sit down every 2-3 hours and hold your precious newborn. This time of bonding is so incredibly special. I have learned to fully enjoy these moments and have read many books during this time making the long nights much more fun.

Everyone always says don’t blink because they grow up too fast. With each child I have, this rings truer and truer. In a baby’s first year it seems like each week they are doing something new. From learning how to eat, coo and smile to learning how to roll, crawl and walk it is such a magical time of discovery. And one thing that has not changed is the joy of watching these sweet babes achieve each milestone.

Logan and Victoria, thank you for welcoming me into your home to capture this precious time. Little Nora is the cutest thing with such delicate features! You both have handled the transition to parenthood so gracefully. I pray that God continues to give you patience and endurance through the long nights and that He slows down time during the sweet moments so that you can ingrain them forever upon your memory.
