Someone New in the Hundred Acre Woods

Newborn

December 19, 2024

The anticipation of a new life often spurs the creation of outfits, blankets and embroidered gifts. Each time I schedule a newborn session I like to ask if there are any special items that would be nice to include in the photoshoot. For little John Thomas the theme was Winnie the Pooh. He snuggled in his hand crafted gloves, hat and booties with a beautiful quilted blanket draped over him. These precious gifts were lovingly made by his grandmother.

The sweet moment reminded me of all the blankets I created when I was a little girl. My older sister and I taught ourselves to crocket and knit. Then we would sit around creating stuffed animals and baby blankets for our future children. I had dreams of having a large family one day and enjoyed creating blankets of all kinds as I pictured their adorable smiling faces. Now as a mom of 3 I have to chuckle because when they were babies I tended to go for the easily washable blankets over the ones I created myself.

Ben and Jules, I have been so honored to be a part of your story and capture milestones from your engagement and wedding to the birth of your new baby boy. I was entranced by all of his facial expressions and the love you both have for him is readily apparent. Please know that we are here for you always! Love you lots!
