Downtown Engagement Session

On a warm spring evening under the setting sun with the breeze tossing our hair, Ben and Jules walked, twirled and rocked around downtown capturing the excitement of their current season of engagement. From the moment of the enthusiastic and long anticipated “YES!” (or maybe even before for those of us that are planners), that status change from girlfriend to fiancé brings a long To Do List. The details of the date, venue, dress, color scheme and flowers can easily overpower to magic of this time. Jules has seamlessly checked off each one while planning her fairytale wedding.

Now there is just anticipation. Anticipation of what life will be like to meld your lives together. Anticipation of a new job and a new city. While the unknown and newness of it all can be intimidating, I have learned that God uses these exact moments to lead us closer to Him and grow us as a person and as a couple. There are so many times in life that I have looked back and seen how God has walked with me through life changes and brought me out stronger and more like Him.

Ben and Jules, thank you for slowing down with me to capture your love for each other and your joy for the future. I loved hearing about your hopes and dreams for the life that you will be building together. Remember that even though you will have each other to lean into when times get hard, you are surrounded by loving family and friends that are just a call away. We love you guys!
