Cherished New Legacy

There’s something magical about capturing the first few weeks of a newborn’s life, and this photo shoot was no exception. Little Charlie, with his delicate strawberry blonde hair, has already shown a zest for life, especially when it comes to his favorite pastime – eating! Between meals he also liked to self soothe with his pacifer and made clear his objections when I took it away. It’s these tiny, candid moments that make newborn photography so special and heartwarming.

In the midst of the shoot, we were surrounded by pieces of history and love. The bassinet, a beautiful family heirloom, cradled sweet Charlie in a cloud of ruffles repurposed from his grandmother’s wedding dress. Underneath the bassinet, a tradition as sweet as the baby it held: the names of all the children who had ever slept there, written with love, connecting generations in a silent roll call of family legacy.

Thank you Annalyse and Mike for inviting me into your home to meet your sweet child and take pictures of your growing family. I hope you treasure each of these moments as special memories that you can hold onto for a lifetime. Charlie is so lucky to have both of you as parents. I pray that he gives you joy and laughter as he grows into an adventurous young boy. Hold him close and enjoy the snuggles because he will be crawling and then running before you know it.
