Christmas Family Reunion

Family Session

December 23, 2023

What many people may not realize is there are many similarities between my job as a pediatrician and my job as a photographer. Both of which I enjoy very much. The relationships that I build with my patients and their families are similar to the relationships I build to my photography clients. I love watching my kiddos grow up from each check up to the next. I’ve had the honor of watching some of my little models grow as well. Lily is one example. I first met her when I was taking her newborn pictures. Then a year later I was able to document her first birthday. And now I had the honor of meeting her aunt, uncles, grandparents and great grandmother. Having all these wonderful family members come together for the holidays warms my heart. As one of six kids I know how difficult it is to get everyone in one place with their crazy schedules.

The holidays have a way of bringing everyone together. Sometimes it is the only time siblings can reunite and parents get all of their children under one roof. As families start to grow and the kids get older, it gets more challenging to find time for everyone to get together. This makes these special occasions so much sweeter.

Emily, I am honored that you asked me to capture this time together. I pray that you all soak in the love, joy and memories before going back to their respective homes as far as countries away. I pray you have a wonderful holiday together celebrating Jesus’s birth. I know Christmas will be extra special this year as you get to watch Lily’s expressive face as she experiences all the wonders of the season.
